Types of Surgical Nurse

There are two main types of surgical nurse in the operation theatre; a scrub nurse and a circulation nurse. The role of scrub nurse is that she must be well educated and familiar with each operational equipments and required to provide the surgeons with the equipments as per needed. The scrub nurse is also responsible for making sure all operating equipments is well accounted for before and after the operation.

A circulation nurse has almost the same responsibilities as that of scrub nurse, but they are mainly involved in the cleanliness and non-contamination of the operation theatre. Their work is to keep the operating room as well as the surgical equipments clean and sterilized.
